Dr. Wu's team restored movement function and muscle volume in three siblings with muscular dystrophy over the course of just two weeks.

The 24-year-old twins Abraham and Samuel, and their 22-year-old sister Lavonia from Papua New Guinea are unfortunately all affected by facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD). However, God closed one door to them, but opened a window. In their youthful years, they found themselves at Wu Medical Center.

When they first arrived at the hospital, all three siblings presented with progressive shoulder and limb muscle weakness that limited their daily activities, causing them to roll over and get up from bed slowly and clumsily. In particular, the younger sister could not flip over on her own. They had muscle atrophy in their limbs, with severe atrophy of the biceps and triceps in their upper limbs. They were weak and unable to raise their arms above their heads, and their toes stood straight with a duck gait and poor endurance.

After undergoing the world's top-notch, sophisticated, tailored stem cell and CAST therapy by Dr. Wu's team, all three of them experienced a two-fold increase in the muscle volume of their whole bodies compared to when they were admitted to the hospital. Their arms can now raise above their heads and the speed of roll over and get up from bed is noticeably faster. The younger sister is able to flip over independently. All three can now walk independently, with a significant improvement in their gait, increased walking speed, and significantly longer walking distances. Compared to their condition upon admission, these three individuals are completely different.

The young siblings are very pleased with their recovery and are full of confidence in their future life and work.

Thank you to Wu Medical Center for its outstanding contribution in defeating various stubborn diseases!

We hope to be able to help more patients with muscular dystrophy who are unable to improve their symptoms or stop the progression of their condition with traditional medicine!
